Voice for the Tenants!

In December 1998 our Association was constituted with help from L&Q Tenants Participation Officer and a full "blessing" from L&Q Housing Trust.

There was generally lack of knowledge about how the Trust works and tenants needed a voice with L&Q.

Gradually residents become more confident in dealing with our landlord and the Joint Management Meetings become a regular platform to resolve many issues on the estate.

Senior Officers of the Trust were attending these meetings, so that most decisions could be taken there and then. There was a lot to talk about and even more to do.

The estate did not look good, parking was a major headache for many, there was no shop, public transport was almost non existent. It was time for change!

"Planning for Real" had began.

Young and not so young got together.

Children with help from Groundwork have made this model of our estate
