The Estate

The estate...

About 5 years ago London & Quadrant Housing Trust have purchased the estate, a mixture of houses and flats. Our estate has become a part of the rest of the village.

All houses look very much the same as the estate was build for MOD personnel and their families.

There are 3 and 4 bedroom houses with gardens

Some people live in blocks of 2 bedroom flats.

The first residents arrived just over 4 years ago, but not all was well. There were many new families from towns who have never lived in the rural environment and there were many children of all ages. You probably know what I am getting at.

All this space and nothing to do!

The new residents wanted more for their children and themselves from Chattenden.

Well, the toddlers eventually got their playground but the older kids have adopted the bus stop as their meeting place.

Not the best of "clubs" is it? It was also used as "the goal posts"

Something had to be done! It was time to take action!
